PROLOGUE (Introduction of the story)

Jamie Adeline Armstrong was welcomed into this world on April 19, 2008.

Adrienne and Billie Joe were thrilled.

As Adie lied in the hospital bed, her hair a mess and sweaty, holding her new born daughter, Billie smiled. Adrienne never looked more beautiful. Tears came to her eyes and she let them fall. She cried tears of joy as she looked up at her tearful eyed husband, Billie Joe Armstrong.

Jamie Adeline was the couples third and final child. They always wanted a daughter. They had 2 boys and were happy with them but there was always an emptiness in Adie and Billie Joes eyes.

They wanted their daughter.

They needed a daughter.

Adie wanted a little girl to dress up. She wanted to make her hair in beautiful styles and get her the cutest clothes. She wanted to get her daughter wonderful dolls and toys that would make her eyes glow.

Adie needed a little girl.

Billie wanted a little girl to protect. To say 'shes daddys little girl'. To dissaprove boyfriends and be there for her. He wanted a little girl whose eyes would light up everyday he came home. A little girl to buy teddy bears for. A little girl to have. A little girl to love

Just a little girl.

And as you can probably see, the couple was absoulty thrilled when Jamie was born. She had the biggest blue eyes with growing brown hair. She had Adriennes nose and Billies smile. She had Adriennes giggle.

She was beautiful

It was everything the couple ever dreamed of. It was so surreal that it was coming true.

Their dream had come true......Jamie was their dream

At the age of 2, Jamies eyes had changed their color. They became the beautiful green shade that Billie Joe had. She still had Adriennes perfect nose and Billies smile. She had Adies wonderful laugh.

She was everything they ever wanted

At the age of 6, Jamie started Kindergarden. Adie would drive her their everyday. As they would be driving, Jamie would be telling her mother everything she wanetd to do in school.

Adie would laugh, and wish her those ideas as they got to the school. Her and Jamie would then walk hand-in-hand to the school and walk in. Adrienne would then bend down and hug her daughter. Jamie would laugh and hug back as Adie would smile. Adrienne would give her kiss and release the hug. Jamie would grin and run off to her teacher to greet her. Adie would laugh and wave and then walk out the door and drive off.

It was the perfect family

Billie Joe would pick all his kids up from school, Joey and Jakob first. He would then bring them home. 5 minutes later, Jamie would be ready to leave. Billie would drive to the elementary school and pick her up.

Jamie would grin as her fathers car drove up to her. Billie would open the door for her and greet her with a 'hi baby babe' which was his nickname for her.

Jamie would smile as she slammed the door shut. She would reply: 'hi daddy dad!' which was her nickname to her father.

Billie would laugh as he started driving. Jamie would then talk about her whole day and everything that happened in it. Billie loved his daughter telling him about her day. He eyes would light up with excitment as she rambled on about her entire day. As they arrived home, Jamie would run in the door and run into her mother with a hug. Billie would walk in the door and smile at his wife.

Adie would smile back.

They loved their little girl. Billie would never let anybody hurt her. Adrienne would always spoil her, but in a good sence. Billie would instill ethics of good and bad in her so she did the right thing. She would be raised in a blue collar enviornment. She would be grateful for everything she had and not brag about anything to her friends. She would respect others and give gratitude towards them

She had faith and she passed that on to her parents when she fell for the final time


To have faith......even when she is gone....

Chapter 1: Is Uncle Mike Ok?

"Honey, can you help mommy with the groceries!?" Adrienne called to her 8 year old daughter, Jamie.

Jamie grinned "Yes, mommy, I'm coming!" she yelled back. She threw her shoes on and ran outside to her mothers car to help her with the groceries.

Adie grinned and said 'thank you' as Jamie took three grocery bags and started walking back towards the house. Adie picked up 4 bags and slammed the car door shut with hip.

It was just another ordinary day with the Armstrongs. Billie Joe was at work, Joey was at his girlfriend, Caralines, house, Jakob was inside watching TV and Jamie had been coloring.

The 2 girls walked into their house and put the bags on the kitchen table. Adie smiled at her daughter. "Thank you sweetie" Adie replied.

Jamie grinned and said 'you're welcome' and went back to her room to continue coloring. Adrienne smiled and started taking the groceries out and putting them away.

When she finished, she sighed and walked into the living room. There was Jakob, with his eyes glued to the screen. Adie laughed. "Jakob, are you watching something good?" she asked. Her 10-year-old son nodded. "TRL, mom" he replied.

Adrienne nodded and went into her bedroom. She threw herself on her bed. She was tired. She yawned and looked over at her alarm clock. a little bit after 1 PM. She sighed and stood up. She pulled her shoes off and leaned back on her bed. She turned on the TV she had in her and Billies room and began wathcing the news.

A commercial came on so she started flipping around the channels. She turned to MTV just in time for the MTV news to come on.

To her surprise, a picture of Mike came up. Adie frowned, wondering why they were talking about Mike, but she turned the TV up. The reporter said:

"Well, folks, we've got some sad news for you. It seems the bassist of the punk band, Green Day, has been in a terrible accident today. Jim has more news on it, Jim?"

Adie gasped and instictivley put her hand to her mouth. At that moment the phone rang.

Billie!

Adie shot up and ran to the phone. Jakob was up standing with his mother because he saw the news on MTV too. Adie picked the phone up.

"Hello??" her voice cracked

"Adie??" Billies voice asked

"Yes, Billie, what happened?? Is he ok!?" Adrienne asked.

"Well, it was a car accident. He was driving to the studio and some drunk 42 year-old ran into the left side of his car. Hes ok, hes in the hospital right now. He broke his arm and collarbone. Besides that and a few bruises and cuts, he should be fine"

Adie took a long breath "Oh God, I just saw it on MTV and then you called"

Billie let out a chuckle. "Well, i have to go. Mike will be fine, if I hear anything else about it, i'll tell you"

Adie nodded. "Ok babe, love you"

"Love you Ad" Billie said

They said good-bye and Adie hung up.

Adie sighed as she put the phone back on the hook.

She turned around to see Jamie staring at her

"Is Uncle Mike gonna be ok?" She said through tears.

She always called Mike and Tre uncle. She just took them as uncles.

Adie smiled at her. "Uncle Mike is going to be absolulty fine, sweetie" she said

And he was. He got out of the hospital about a month later.

It was Jamie who wasn't going to be ok......

*GASP*  What will happen to Jamie?  Will Mike be okay?  I wanna know!

Chapter 3: Collasped


Billie lied there on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

His entire body was numb. At first, all there was was pain, now it was just numbness.

He had been working in the studio all day and he had just been 'over-working'. It finally took the toll on his body to wear he couldn't even move.

Adie made Billie stay home for a couple weeks till he was able to feel and even move again. Billie hated it. He felt like he was the reason the band wouldn't get much done, and he pretty much was. He felt hopeless as he just lied there, powerless to do anything.

He sighed. Adie was at work for Adeline and his kids were at school. He was lieing in a silent house, all by his self, unable to even move.

It was around noon when the phone rang. The phone was lieing beside Billie so he could get it easier. He sighed but he slowly moved his arm to reach the phone. He grabbed it on the third ring and looked at the caller ID. It was the school. Billie sighed, wondering what trouble one of his kids got into this time, but it was the nurse.

"Mr. Armstrong?" asked the school nurse

"Yes" he asked wearingly

"This is Patty Pavolko, the school nurse.....something has happened to Jamie, we need you here right away"

Billies heart dropped "What??" his voice cracked

"Everything should be fine" the nurse comforted. "She has been rushed to the hospital in Oakland. She collasped during lunch...we don't know what it is at the moment but we want you to come to the hospital"

Billie was stunned. ".......ok" he replied.

They said good-byes and hung up. Billie immediatley tried to stand up. It took him at leats five minutes to get out of the bed. Within 20 minutes, he was dressed and ready to go. He slowly got into his car and started the engine. He looked at his watch. It was almost one. Adie was working hard, she had a lunch break in abuot 15 minutes, he would call her then.

He got t the hospital within ten minutes and was told to wait. He stood waiting, looking for someone who was looking for him. Finally, a dr. came up to him.

"Mr. Armstrong?" he asked

"Yes" Billie replied with a nod

"Come with me" he said as he turned to a differnt room.

They entered the room and the bth sat down.

"Well, your daughter, Jamie, was at lunch and she was standing. All of a sudden, she collasped to the ground, with no warning. The school immediatly called the hospital and now she is in our special care unit"

Billie didn't nod or show any expression. He was still stunned. "So do you know why she collasped??" Billie asked.

The dr. sighed. "Well, some other dr.s are checking her out right now: her blood pressure, heart rate, etc. There are some common things that could of happened: she could of got just dizzy and fell....hot flashes is another....she could of been extremley tired...or sick. Your daughter could have asthma: there are many things that could explain this, we will tell you when the tests have come back."

Billie sighed. She was probbaly just dizzy. Jamie got dizzy a lot, it was just common to her. Billie was like that when he was her age

5 minutes later, Billie called Adrienne. He told her everything that had happened and everything that the doctor said. Adie was, of course, shocked and worried and told Billie she would come right away to the hospital.

2 hours later. everything was better. Jamie was at home and no one was worried. The tests showed that she was just dizzy and passed out. Jamie insisted she was fine, but the doctors weren't so sure. She went back to do some more tests, and the news the Armstrongs received was very alarming. Alarming for Jamies own life.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! *CRIES* lol

Chapter 4:


It was too early to tell exactly what was wrong with Jamie. The hospital decided to keep her at the hospital for a few days. Billie and Adie weren't sad but they weren't happy. They were just very worried.

But it was just a few days

But the days turned to weeks

And the weeks turned to months

Billie and Adie went to see Jamie every chance they could. Joey and Jakob went all the time too. Joey and Jakob were older than her but they still didn't really understand what was going on.

It didn't make sence to them.

Or Billie.

Or Adrienne.

It didn't make sence to anybody

Jamie had turned 9 the day after she was put in the hospital. They had told her it would just be a few days

She was almost 10 now

The doctors wouldn't tell her anything and she started getting very irritated. She wanted to know what was wrong with her. Was she going to be ok? Was she just sick?

Was she dieing??

She had no idea. Neither did the Armstrong family. The doctors barley knew what was wrong.

She had high blood pressure and was always dizzy. She passed out alot and threw up from the dizziness. She would get terrible hot flashes and then she would be freezing. She would get very high fevers but her teeth would be chattering from being so cold. She had terrible headaches that would rest on top of her eyes. It hurt if she moved or coughed or if she did anything at all. She couldn't sleep with all the pain. It was the stangest thing.

Nobody could explain it to her. She wanted a name for what was happening to her. She wasn't just sick....what was it???








A few days later, Jamie didn't feel all that bad. She had no fever and no headache. She wasn't freezing or sweating. Her body was in pain though and she still felt terrible but it was the best she had felt in a long time.

She sighed as she looked out the hospital window. She missed her family and her friends. She missed playing with her older brothers. She missed her home. She missed feeling good.

She started wimpering and hot tears fell out of her eyes. That mad her angry because the crying made her head hurt. She pulled her arm up fast to wipe her tears but her arm had a terrible cramp and she cried out. She wiped her tears quickley and threw her hand back down. She was starting to sweat from heat.

She sighed. She just couldn't win.

She felt the tears come and let them come. She didn't wipe them. Her entire bidy was in pain, it hurt too bad if she tried to move.

None of this pain made sence to anyone. It was the most terrible pain Jamie had ever felt.

It was almost impossible to handle.

Jamie lied there and cried.

Cried for her family.

Cried for her friends.

Cried for her life

Cried for her...






Adrienne put her head in her hands and began to sob. She had just gotton off the phone with Jamies doctor.

They told her she was getting worse by the day.

Adrienne had asked if they knew what was wrong with her and still couldn't tell. All they knew was it was very serious.

Adie began to cry heavily. All she wanted was her wonderful daughter. She wanted her to be happy and healthy and she was neither.

Adrienne felt extremely bad for Jamie. She couldn't imagine how awful it must be to just lie in there in a hospital bed for that long of time while your in huge amounts of pain.

She sighed and wiped her tears. She knew Billie felt just as bad as her. Joey and Jakob were a mess.

It just wasn't going the way it should of.

Gaah!  I love it!  I hope Jamie gets better soon!
